Bass lessons.

Learning to play bass does wonders for your sense of rhythm and sharpens your musical understanding at the same time. In bass lessons at Music Campus Bielefeld, you learn not just to play songs along, but to really drive them and give them stability and character. Plenty of famous musicians show how exciting this instrument can be, from Paul McCartney and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten and Sting. In our bass lessons in Bielefeld, we take you through the basics step by step, from your first grooves to your own basslines.
Our bass lessons are for beginners and advanced players alike. At our music school in Bielefeld, you learn hands-on, with plenty of fun and personal support, how to play the bass confidently and use it musically.
Play your
first groove.
Tap a style like funk, reggae or rock and change the groove by setting steps: bass on top, kick drum below. You will hear right away what a bass does in a band: it carries, drives and gives the song its character.
How your bass lessons work.
The first lessons
Two-finger plucking, clean muting and your first basslines built on root notes. You will quickly notice how the bass and the kick drum carry a song's groove together.
Over time
Scales and arpeggios across the whole fretboard, walking bass, slap technique and grooves from funk, soul, reggae, rock and metal. You also learn to read notation and tabs.
For kids and adults
With a short-scale bass, kids and teens can get started easily too. Many adults come to us through their own band, or because they finally want to play in one.
Practising at home
Practise with a metronome or a drum loop: timing is everything on bass. For home, a small practice amp or a headphone amp is all you need.
