Can you hear the
difference?
Ear training is part of every entrance exam. Practise here: two notes sound. Which interval is it? Or a triad: major, minor, diminished, augmented? The longer your streak, the closer you are to being exam-ready.
How your preparation works.
Getting started
Together we look at your goals, your main subject and the requirements of the colleges you want to apply to. From that, we build a personal plan leading up to the entrance exam.
Theory and ear
Ear training with intervals, chords and dictation, music theory with harmony and form, plus sight-reading. Exactly the areas tested in many entrance exams.
Audition program
On your main instrument or with your voice, you work up your audition program and practise performing under real conditions, so you feel confident on exam day.
Start in good time
The earlier you start, the more relaxed your preparation will be. Ideally, start one to two years before the exam; suitable from around age 16.
