The first lessons
Posture, picking and your first chords like G, C, D and Em. With these you can already accompany lots of songs. Add some simple strumming patterns and clean changes between chord shapes.
Over time
Barre chords, picking patterns and fingerstyle, tabs and sheet music, riffs and your first solos. Acoustic, electric or classical guitar: style and pace are up to you, from pop and rock to blues and classical.
For kids and adults
For children there are smaller guitars, so hands and instrument are a good fit. Adults often start with their favourite songs and build up technique from there, step by step.
Practising at home
Your fingertips will hurt a little in the first few weeks, but that passes quickly. Short daily practice sessions and a tuner or tuning app help the most.

From what age can you take guitar lessons?
Guitar lessons at Music Campus Bielefeld are available from age 6. There's no upper age limit. Many of our students are teens and adults who are starting out or coming back after a break.
Do I need my own instrument?
Not for the trial lesson. We have an instrument ready for you. For regular lessons it makes sense to have your own, so you can practise at home. We help you choose and recommend local specialist shops such as Guitar Jail in Bielefeld city centre, where our students often get special deals.
How much do guitar lessons cost in Bielefeld?
Private lessons start from €82 per month, at 30, 45 or 60 minutes, weekly or by arrangement. If you'd rather not sign a contract, the ME Time prepaid card starts from €36 per lesson (30 minutes). Our office will be happy to give you the details in person. Just call or message us on WhatsApp.
How does the trial lesson work?
You arrange a time by phone, email or WhatsApp. In the trial lesson you meet your teacher, see the rooms, play your first notes and tell us what you'd like to do musically. The trial lesson is free of obligation and commits you to nothing.
What content and styles will I learn?
The focus is on chords, strumming patterns, melody playing, finger technique and rhythm. Style-wise, we play what you like: pop, rock, blues, classical, fingerstyle. Beginners and advanced players are equally welcome.
