How your drum lessons work.
The first lessons
Stick grip, the basic pulse and your first rock beat with bass drum, snare and hi-hat. You learn to move your hands and feet independently and will soon be playing along to your first songs.
Over time
Rudiments, fills and grooves from rock, pop, funk, metal and jazz. Plus reading music, dynamics and solid timing with a metronome.
For kids and adults
Children start at around age 6, depending on height. Adults love the drums as a way to switch off from everyday life: movement, focus and energy all in one.
Practising at home
An electronic drum kit with headphones or a practice pad keeps the neighbours happy. Just fifteen minutes a day makes a noticeable difference to your coordination and timing.

From what age can you take drum lessons?
Drum lessons at Music Campus Bielefeld are available from age 6, depending on height. There's no upper age limit. Many of our students are teenagers and adults who are starting out or coming back after a break.
Do I need my own instrument?
Not for the trial lesson. We have an instrument ready for you. For regular lessons it makes sense to have your own, so you can practise at home. We help you choose and recommend local specialist shops such as Guitar Jail in Bielefeld city centre, where our students often get special deals.
How much do drum lessons cost in Bielefeld?
Private lessons start from €82 per month, at 30, 45 or 60 minutes, weekly or by arrangement. If you'd rather not sign a contract, the ME Time prepaid card starts from €36 per lesson (30 minutes). Our office will be happy to give you the details in person. Just call or message us on WhatsApp.
How does the trial lesson work?
You arrange a time by phone, email or WhatsApp. In the trial lesson you meet your teacher, see the rooms, play your first notes and tell us what you'd like to do musically. The trial lesson is free of obligation and commits you to nothing.
What content and styles will I learn?
The focus is on coordination, timing, rudiments, grooves and song accompaniment. Style-wise, we play what you enjoy: rock, pop, funk, metal, jazz. Beginners and advanced players are equally welcome.
